It is very important that children attend school regularly. The link between school attendance and attainment in school is clear. The more a pupil is in school the more they increase their opportunity to fulfil their potential.
We will always try to work closely in partnership with our families to support their child's learning and to overcome any barriers that prevent good attendance.
Our registers are taken each day at 8.45am although the doors open for all at 8.35 to allow for a 'soft opening'. The school day finishes at 3.15. We require all infant children to be collected each day by an known adult. Junior children may walk home alone at the parent's discretion.
We are required to keep and monitor records of attendance, absence and lateness and this data is submitted to the Local Authority. If your child can not attend school please telephone the school office before 8:45am on each day of their absence.
In particular, we need to stress how important it is that you don't take holidays in term time as it disrupts your child's learning. In keeping with the Local Authority directive we will not authorise term-time absence unless you can evidence exceptional circumstances.
