Welcome to Willow class, (Nursery) at Maryport Church of England Primary School. Nursery is the beginning of each child’s exciting learning journey. Here, we provide a rich learning environment which allows each child to express their own interests, needs and to learn in their preferred style. We believe that children learn through playing and exploring. Our play based curriculum is responsive to children’s needs and interests, alongside high level interactions with adults and planned, playful experiences to inspire the children’s natural curiosity, understanding and development. During the day there are 2/3 carpet sessions which include early literacy activities, activities to support communication and language skills, along with maths based activities. We ensure that each child feels happy, safe and secure in an environment that supports them to develop into kind, creative and independent learners. We hope that everyone enjoys their time with us in Nursery and we look forward to watching them continue to flourish and grow throughout their time in the Foundation Stage.
Every child is entitled to 15 fully funded hours in our Nursery. Some families may also be entitled to an additional 15 hours giving their child a total of 30 hours funded provision. Please see the information below.
