Welcome to Pine class at Maryport Church of England Primary School. During Year 4 we will further develop our skills, knowledge and understanding from previous years, whilst challenging ourselves to do our best and take ownership of our own learning. We aim to provide the class with exciting learning experiences where they are given the opportunity to continue to learn, achieve and shine.Within year 4, we will be studying the Romans, participating in wheelchair basketball and going on our first overnight residential. Throughout the year, we will also be preparing for the new national multiplication test.

We aim to ensure that every child is confident in their own ability and enthusiastic about their own learning. Our staff are encouraging, understanding and supportive, in return we expect pupils to have a positive attitude to learning where they always try their best. Our Christian values are consistently referred to both in our classroom and in our collective worship assemblies, ensuring we are all respectful, caring and compassionate individuals.

We hope every child has an enjoyable time in Year 4 and are equipped for Year 5 with a wealth of knowledge and a passion for learning.

Pine class have extended their geography topic on mega-cities and have been cooking traditional foods that are eaten in some of the mega-cities they have studied.

On 13/11/19, Pine class visited the Senhouse Roman Museum to learn more about the Romans in Maryport and along Hadrian’s Wall. Thank you to all the staff who shared their vast knowledge with the children.
