Welcome to Year 5, Maple  Class. During this year, we will deliver a knowledge-rich curriculum, through imaginative and cross- curricular learning experiences, to enable our children to ‘Learn, Achieve and Shine’.

In Year 5, we will be studying many exciting topics including: the Mayan Civilisation, Anglo-Saxons and Vikings, Britain's National Parks and Mountains. We embrace outdoor learning opportunities including: a visit to the Lake District Wildlife Park in the autumn term; a visit to the Lake District National Park in the summer term as well as the opportunity to take part in a residential visit to York.

We will provide the children with a range of exciting and memorable learning experiences to develop their interpersonal skills, build resilience and allow them to become creative and critical thinkers with high aspirations. We regularly reflect on our Christian Values, which are focused on explicitly through our Collective Worship time and throughout our curriculum.

We aim for children to be enthusiastic, with a positive attitude to learning, by providing a highly inclusive learning environment. Our staff are enthusiastic, positive and approachable, in return we expect every child to 'be the best they can be' which will be rewarded with happy memories, lasting friendships and an increased confidence to take with them on the next part of their learning journey.

We hope every child has an enjoyable and valuable time in Year 5, moving on into Year 6 with an abundance of knowledge, skills and understanding.

Let the fun begin!
